If you like your fitness tracking device to look more like a traditional watch than a boxy bracelet, then the new Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 will grab your attention.
It (can) look like a traditional watch, but the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 is a smartwatch, with a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen, and running on Android Wear 2.0.
The watch is the result of a collaboration between Tag Heuer and Intel. It has 4GB of memory, water resistance to 5ATM, and a claimed battery life of ‘more than a day’.
The watch is also extremely customizable. Eleven standard models will be available in sores, with another 45 available on request. What with the various modules, horns, bands, bracelets, buckles, and watch dials (over 30 of these alone) to choose from, the watch has over 500 different possible looks.
It’s fitness component? The Android 2.0 operating system allows the use of the Google Fit app, along with its integration with including Strava, Map My Ride, Nike+, Runtastic, Polar Beat, MyFitness Pal and more.
Google Fit itself has you covered for tracking your steps, workout time and distance, and calories burnt. It automatically detects walking, running, and biking, or can have you manually tell the watch that you are undertaking more than 120 different workout activities.
Price and availability
Pricing for the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 starts at $1,600 — Swiss-made Swiss price.
It will go on sale from March 14 at the TAG Heuer online store, and at retailer stores shortly after that date. Initial watch case colors available will be satin or polished grade 5 titanium.
